A person familiar with the decision says Rutgers has hired Julie Hermann from the University of Louisville to be its new athletic director. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the school was still working on an official announcement. The Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J., first reported the hire. New Rutgers basketball coach doesn’t have degree

New Brunswicj, N.J. • Rutgers University’s official bio of new basketball coach Eddie Jordan says he graduated from the university in 1977. But the university registrar’s office says the former NBA player and coach never received a degree from Rutgers, though he earned 103 credit hours from 1973 to 1985.
