It has been so wonderful to experience everyone’s kindness. Friends, neighbors and relatives have rallied to help ... a complete stranger slowed the car in passing just long enough to hand out bulging bags of McDonald’s food. If I or one of my neighbors has a missing child, I want the police to enter every nearby back yard and look for the child. If I owned a dog and it threatened a police officer and he killed it, I’d be heartbroken and angry. But I’d say, “I’m sorry my dog threatened the officer.
