Prosecutors have charged a suspected drug dealer with driving under the influence of methamphetamine when he allegedly hit and killed a man with his van. Ashton Lee Godfrey, 20, was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with automobile homicide, as well as DUI causing death, in case the court determines there isn’t enough evidence for the former. Unified Police are asking the public’s help in locating a 69-year-old Millcreek area man with Alzheimer’s disease, who has been missing since 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Derald Nielson, who lives near 1350 East and 3600 South, was last seen by a neighbor walking his dog. UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said the dog returned home without Nielson. A missing 69-year-old Millcreek man was being treated at a hospital Sunday afternoon after a Unified police officer spotted him nearly eight miles away from home. Derald Nielson, who suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s disease, was found by the officer about 1:15 p.m. as he walked near 6200 South and Redwood Road in Taylorsville, police said.
