A teenage girl was in serious condition Friday, a day after she was injured when her 4-wheel all-terrain vehicle crashed and rolled near northern Utah’s Avon-Liberty Divide. The North Ogden girl, 15, and a 15-year-old male friend were riding ATVs near the county line between Cache and Weber counties about 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Westbound traffic on Interstate 80 at Parleys Summit Monday morning was slowed by Utah Highway Patrol troopers who tracked and shot an injured moose on the loose. The animal was believed to have been hit by a vehicle about 7 a.m. and was spotted wandering on the freeway shortly thereafter. North Ogden’s police chief was injured Thursday after accidentally shooting himself in the arm during a training exercise. Detective Paul Rhoades said Chief Kevin Warren sustained a gunshot wound to his right forearm. He was transported to Ogden Regional Medical Center, and is expected to recover, Rhoades said. A Salt Lake City motorcycle officer was at home recovering Thursday, the day after he was injured by flying debris while on a training ride on Interstate 15. Utah Highway Patrol Cpl.
