The accident happened near 300 East and Center Street in North Salt Lake, according to South Davis Metro Fire officials. Fire crews quickly doused a small fire sparked after the accident. Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron said the train struck a Union Pacific automobile. It was not immediately known whether the injured were in the train or the vehicle that was struck.
