The 63-year-old man was heading north on 900 East, when he pulled off to the side of the road at 6395 South to make a U-turn, said Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen. But he over-corrected, turning his Mazda head-on into a northbound SUV at 8:38 p.m., Hansen said. The man had to be extricated from his Mazda and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
