Posted: 8:54 AM- PROVO - A BYU linebacker has pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor charges stemming from an April incident involving a water balloon.

Terrance Hooks was arrested for breaking in to two apartments while trying to find someone who hit his girlfriend with water balloons.

Hooks pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of criminal mischief and one count of criminal trespass. In exchange for his plea two counts of felony burglary were dropped.

He was sentenced to 15 days in a work diversion program.

BYU football coach Bronco Mendenhall suspended Hooks for the Cougars' season opener against the University of Arizona, along with another player who was arrested in the incident but not charged.

Mendenhall also ordered Hooks to perform 40 hours of community service.
