Robert Turbin, Utah State's best player and one of the best running backs in the Western Athletic Conference, has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and is expected to miss at least part of the 2010 football season, The Tribune has learned.
Turbin, according to sources, injured his knee during offseason conditioning workouts and had surgery Thursday.
A second team all-conference player from 2009, Turbin rushed for 1,296 yards and 13 touchdowns, leading an Aggie offense that became more and more explosive as the season went on. Turbin also caught 30 passes for 418 yards and five touchdowns.
