Dixie State College football coach Ron Haun announced his resignation Wednesday after four years at the helm.

Haun, who was 12-32 overall at Dixie State, guided the Red Storm's transition from a junior college to a four-year NCAA Division II program. He led DSC to a third-place finish (2-4) in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference this past season.

Former BYU lineman Scott Brumfield, DSC's offensive coordinator, will become the interim coach, according to DSC interim athletic director Maureen Eckroth.

"I appreciate the opportunity given to me to lead this program," Haun said. "It's been a great experience for me and I have really enjoyed coaching our players, but it is time for me to retire."

Haun was head coach at Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) from 1982-2002 before the school dropped intercollegiate athletics. He was Weber State's offensive coordinator in 2005.
