College football: SUU sweeps conference player of the week honors

Major Gray, Colin Pretlow and Fesi Sitake of Southern Utah have swept the Great West Conference player of the week honors for their performances in Saturday's 56-35 win over UC Davis.

Gray, a junior from Las Vegas, was name the league's offensive player of the week after tying a school record with four touchdown runs. In all, he gained 74 yards on 16 carries.

Pretlow, a junior from Las Vegas, was named the conference defensive player of the week. He had 13 tackles, forced a fumble and returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown.

Sitake, a junior from Sandy who played at Hillcrest High School, returned a punt 61 yards for a touchdown and was named the GWC's special teams player of the week. He averaged 38.3 yards on three punt returns.

This is the first time in Southern Utah's six years as a member of the conference that its players swept the weekly honors.
