Posted: 4:06 PM- Hawaii and BYU have agreed to a home-and-home football series in 2012 and 2013, Hawaii athletic director Jim Donovan announced Friday in a written statement.
The Cougars and Warriors were rivals when they were both members of the Western Athletic Conference, but have not played since 2002. The teams will meet in Provo in 2012 (Sept. 8) and in 2013 (Sept. 14) at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.
"Playing BYU has always been a thrill for our fans as well as our coaches and players," Donovan said. "I'm very pleased we were able to work out an agreement and continue this friendly rivalry."
BYU leads the overall series 19-8.
The Cougars' nonconference schedule in 2012 is now complete and includes Washington, Utah State, Boise State and Hawaii.
