Posted: 4:42 PM- Real Salt Lake's Nathan Sturgis won't be playing in the Olympics, after all.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder was sent home from Team USA's training camp in California today, just days after joining it, after aggravating the hamstring injury that had kept him out of all but a few minutes of action for RSL since mid-April.
National soccer officials added alternate Dax McCarty of FC Dallas to the Team USA for its trip the Beijing Games in China next month. Sturgis is expected to return to Salt Lake City to rejoin RSL and again work on rehabilitating his hamstring.
