Posted: 7:20 PM- As many as 20 people found themselves the target of gunfire early Saturday, as someone fired bullets at a gathering and wounded three people.

Two of those people received serious leg wounds, according to Salt Lake City police. A third person was grazed.

Police arrested six people suspected of playing a role in the shooting, including the alleged triggerman, 22-year-old Hector Urcino-Solano.

About 1:50 a.m., a small crowd had gathered outside a residence in the 1300 West block of Wasatch Avenue. Salt Lake City police Lt. Dave Hoffman said 15 to 20 people were outside when Urcino-Solano approached with a group of his own.

Some kind of verbal altercation began between the two groups, Hoffman said. Hoffman said Urcino-Solano drew a gun and fired several rounds into the crowd.

Detectives later found Urcino-Solano and other suspects hiding in a garage a block away, Hoffman said. Besides Urcino-Solano, two adults and three juveniles were arrested on suspicion of rioting or obstructing justice. Hoffman said the six arrested are believed to have gang affiliations.
