Updated: 10:06 AM- Daniel Scott Hadley, the Clearfield infant left in a parked car for two hours last week in temperatures that may have reached 120 degrees, has died.

Daniel's mother, Kamilyn Kartchner Hadley, said she forgot her 5-month-old son was in the car when she parked outside a friend's house in Layton. The incident took place about 2:30 p.m. on June 17, said Layton police Sgt. Shawn Horton. Hadley discovered him in the car about two hours later - a "horribly long time," Horton said - and took him to the hospital.

Daniel was pronounced dead at Primary Children's Medical Center on Friday, said Layton police Lt. Garret Atkin. Charges against Hadley have not yet been filed, he said. He survived by two older brothers, ages three and five.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 9th ward church located at 838 East 600 South. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment services will take place at the West Weber Cemetary.

Temperatures inside a parked car typically are 20 to 30 degrees higher than the outdoor temperatures, which ranged from 86 to 89 degrees Tuesday afternoon, Horton said. The vehicle was parked in a driveway in direct sunlight.
