Posted: 10:15 AM- Salt Lake City police are looking for a gang member who allegedly stabbed a pregnant woman outside a Cricket store on Monday.

Police say the victim and her mother were shopping at the store at 1645 W. 700 North. They left the store around 5:44 p.m. and discovered they were blocked in their parking space by another vehicle, according to a Salt Lake City police news release.

The women asked the driver to move the car and an argument started, police said. The women were able to leave the parking lot, but the occupants of the other vehicle followed them to 500 N. 700 West, where the victim and her mother pulled over.

The victim, who is seven months pregnant, left her vehicle and "engaged in an altercation" with a girl from the other vehicle, police said.

The victim was stabbed by the girl, who is a gang member, according to the news release.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. An updated condition report wasn't immediately available today.

A description of the suspect also was not immediately available.
