Broadweave Networks expands further after iProvo purchase

Posted: 11:00 AM- SOUTH JORDAN - Nine days after agreeing to buy iProvo, Broadweave Networks has purchased one of the three retail service providers on the network, as well as acquired the right to provide telecommunications service to customers of the other two providers on the fiber-optic network.

Broadweave chief executive Steve Christensen announced this morning that his company has purchased Veracity Communications in a cash and stock deal.

Veracity owner Kevin Mayberry will become a member of Broadweave's board of directors, while Drew Peterson, Veracity's CEO, will become Broadweave's chief sales officer.

Veracity provides phone and Internet service to Brigham Young University, Alpine School District, Mountain America Credit Union, R.C. Willey and United Way of Utah County.

Broadweave also will take over providing service to subscribers to Mstar and Nuvont in Provo.

The purchase of iProvo and Friday's agreement give Broadweave approximately 10,000 additional customers, increasing its total subscriber base tenfold.
