Former Snow football players get jail terms

Posted: 1:53 PM- Three former Snow College football players have each been sentenced to a year in jail for break-ins at two Ephraim businesses, one of which was set ablaze.

Stephon L. Thrash and Andrew Castaneda, both 19, had pleaded guilty in Sanpete County's 6th District Court to arson and five counts of burglary.

Troy Cummings Jr., 19, pleaded guilty to four counts of burglary.

On Nov. 8 and 9, the trio burglarized a malt shop and a car wash, setting the car wash building on fire in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence, according to police.

The trio was sentenced to concurrent jail terms for a Nov. 15 burglary in Nephi. Thrash and Castaneda have been charged in Sevier County for a Nov. 18 break-in at a Salina car wash.
