The date was May 28th, 1992, and it was Salt Lake City Jazz fan Marian Shelby's birthday.

To celebrate, her husband Donald purchased a rhinestone Jazz pin at the Fanzz store in what was then the Delta Center. It also happened to be when the deciding game seven of Utah's series with the Portland Trailblazers was played, a game the Jazz would lose.

Undeterred by that bit of bad luck for the past 16 years and with only a couple of lapses, Marian has worn the pin every day from the start of the Jazz season until the end.

Marian also has signed photos from Jazz players and a box of Karl Malone corn flakes.

"Look at what my boys are doing right now," she said of Utah's series with the Houston Rockets. "We're going to beat them tonight."
