Posted: 7:09 PM- A Mt. Pleasant man is on the run, accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and another man in two Sanpete County cities Thursday night.

Donald Bert Richardson, 48, is believed to have taken off in a burgundy four-door 1991 Chrysler New Yorker with Utah plates 629 VHY. He is 5 feet 10 inches, 160 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair and considered armed, police said.

Police have identified the victims as 46-year-old Annette Young, of Fairview, and 39-year-old Martin Cannon of Mt. Pleasant. They have released no motive.

Cannon was found dead in the doorway of his mobile home with a single gunshot wound to the head about 11:30 p.m. Thursday. As police released information on the killing about 10 a.m. Friday, a woman called police saying she found her friend, Young, beaten to death in her Fairview home, about six miles from Mt. Pleasant, Sanpete County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Greg Peterson said.

Investigators were still sorting out the relationships between the three people and the possible motive, Peterson said. Richardson and Young were longtime "sweethearts," Peterson said, but it was unclear if they were still in a relationship at the time of the killing. While Richardson visited Young at her house often, it did not appear the two lived together, Peterson said. Richardson and Cannon were acquaintances, Peterson said, and may have had problems in the past.

Peterson said police had no evidence that the killings were a result of a jealous rage but did not rule it out.
