Posted: 10:54 PM- Police say they have found the body of a missing 7-year-old girl in her South Salt Lake apartment complex.

Hser Nay Moo disappeared Monday from her home in the South Parc apartments, near 2250 S. 500 East. Her body was found about 7 p.m. in a neighboring apartment within the complex, and five men have been arrested on suspicion of her homicide, said South Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Snyder.

Officers were unable to search the apartment until tonight because the residents were not home, Snyder said. Starting Monday, investigators searched every apartment in the building before the one where Hser was found.

Her body showed signs of trauma, but Snyder would not elaborate on her injuries. Police do not know when she died. Hser was found in the bathroom of the apartment, which the residents allowed officers to search, Snyder said. Police arrested four men in the apartment and picked up the fifth in the Fort Union area, Snyder said. Snyder would not comment on their criminal records or whether they lived in the apartment where the four were arrested.

Snyder would not comment on the relationship between the suspects and Hser or her family.

"Our hearts and our sympathies go out to the family," Snyder said. "This has been a very tough case for all of us."

As officers broke the news, neighbors and searchers stood outside, some weeping. One group of volunteers who had searched hugged each other. The women said they were mothers.

"We need a lot more angry mothers out here to say this has to stop," said Kimberly Schuler Hall.
