Posted: 8:17 PM- A Springville woman who initially blamed carbon monoxide poisoning for her husband's death inside their home now faces felony charges after investigators discovered she used cocaine and heroin with the man shortly before he died.

Leslie Butler, 31, was charged in 4th District Court this month in connection with her husband's death on Feb. 24.

Police say Jeffery Reed Butler, 35, died at his home on El Dorado Drive near 2500 South in Springville. Leslie Butler's mother had called 911 and told dispatchers a carbon monoxide alarm had gone off. Leslie Butler, however, denied police entrance to the home until they provided a search warrant and investigators deemed the death "suspicious."

No abnormal levels of carbon monoxide were discovered in the home by police. Investigators do not know how Butler died and will not know before lab reports are completed, but carbon monoxide poisoning has been ruled out.

Butler was charged with distribution of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, a first-degree felony; possession of heroin, a second-degree felony; possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, and child abuse, a Class B misdemeanor, said Utah County Attorney Jeffrey Buhman.

Butler's first court appearance is scheduled for April 1.
