Posted: 3:11 PM- A comprehensive immigration bill was pulled from a scheduled floor debate in the Utah Senate today and is being revised.

The bill would have imposed penalties on employers who knowingly hire undocumented workers and would enlist local law enforcement officials to enforce immigration laws

SB81, sponsored by Sen. Bill Hickman, R-St. George, has drawn opposition from Utah business leaders and concern from some religious leaders.

The Hickman bill, which resembles a similar omnibus immigration bill passed last year by the Oklahoma legislature, is expected to be reintroduced on Thursday.
