Posted: 10:54 AM- The Ogden Valley communities of Liberty, Eden and Huntsville are digging out today from more than 4 feet of snow in four days.

"They've been really pounded," said Eric Schoening, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

"I can't even see out my sliding glass door and that's not because of blowing snow, that's snowfall," said Sherrie Dohrer, owner of the Snowberry Inn at Eden.

The valley on the east side of the Wasatch Range, east of Ogden, got about a foot of snow on Thursday, another foot Friday and 26 inches to 29 inches from Saturday night through Sunday.

The two schools there, Valley Elementary and Snowcrest Junior High, cancelled classes today and the buses were not taking high schoolers over the mountain to Weber High.

All the snow has residents trying to recall a whiter winter in the valley known for its snow. Just two weeks ago, one storm dumped 3 feet, and none of it has melted.

"This is why they come here to ski," said Dohrer. "We need it for the water, but I'm getting damn tired of shoveling."

The ski resorts in the valley were reporting loads of new snow over the weekend. Wolf Mountain had 27 inches, Snowbasin had 32 inches and Powder Mountain had 39 inches. The state highway to Powder Mountain was closed Sunday, shutting the resort down. It reopened today.
