Posted: 1:26 PM- A Utah company that sanitized movies for rent today accused an Orem businessman of infringing on its "CleanFlicks" trademarks.

Clean Flicks Media Inc. alleges that Daniel Dean Thompson was never one of its franchisees or dealers but falsely represented that he had a connection to the company. Thompson registered on MySpace.com as "cleanflicks' and also operated under the name Clean Flix, according to a lawsuit by Clean Flicks.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City, accuses Thompson of trademark violations and cyberpiracy. It seeks at least $1.1. million in damages.

Both Clean Flicks and Thompson's business used to rent and sell videos that were edited to remove nudity and graphic violence.

Clean Flicks began dealing in unedited movies after a judge found that the editing did not constitute a fair use under the Copyright Act. Thompson closed his business in December after threats of legal action from Hollywood studios.

Thompson, 31, and another man were arrested in Orem last week on suspicion of having sex with two 14-year-old girls. That case is pending.
