Posted: 10:53 AM- Wayne County sheriff's investigators have concluded that a man shot his wife and turned the gun of himself during a drunken argument in a Bicknell motel in August.
Sheriff Kurt Taylor said he closed the case last week, after determining Matthew Keller, 42, originally of Twin Falls, Idaho, fatally shot his wife, Kimberly Burnette, 41, originally of South Carolina, in the head with a semi-automatic handgun and then shot himself in the head.
The couple stayed in the Aquarius Inn in Bicknell for about month while they worked construction jobs, Taylor said. Police found their bodies in the motel room on Aug. 29 but believe they died the night before.
Autopsy results indicated Burnette was shot from close range, Keller killed himself, and both were drunk, Taylor said.
