Posted: 9:12 AM- A bus full of school kids rammed through a railroad crossing arm in Kaysville yesterday after the barrier jammed when a train was approaching.

Construction workers nearby tried to raise the arm, but it wouldn't budge. They yelled at the bus driver, who was momentarily paralyzed by the predicament.

Davis County school bus driver, Johney Katich, who was transporting kids to Fairfield Junior High, hit the gas pedal and broke through the arm.

District officials say the bus's windshield was broken but no one was injured. They say some of the kids were rather shaken up and four asked to speak to a school counselor.

Katich was placed on routine administrative leave while the incident is being investigated.
