Posted: 12:03 PM- The Jazz still had two unresolved issues as they practiced Monday morning in advance of Tuesday's opener at Golden State.

The first regarded center Kevin Lyde's prospects of making the final 15-man roster, which has to be submitted by 4 p.m. Monday. The second concerned forward Matt Harpring's right knee and his availability for opening night.

Lyde was still with the team at practice and was bound for the airport one way or another. Either he would fly out with the Jazz, having fulfilled his dream of making an NBA team, or he would be headed home after being cut the day before the season.

"My bag's stayed packed just in case they tell me I have to go home or go on the road," Lyde said.

After playing four seasons in the NBA Development League, plus stops in China, Argentina and Italy, Lyde would be a model of perseverance in making it to the NBA. The only other time he went to training camp, Lyde left Denver early for a job overseas.

"Just to get my foot in the door would be a great feeling for me," said Lyde, who played for the Jazz's summer league team and was invited to training camp.

Although he played little in the preseason, Lyde is valued as a big body who can bang with Carlos Boozer, Mehmet Okur and Kyrylo Fesenko in practice. There's little glory but the money's not bad: Lyde would make about $2,500 every day he's in the NBA.

Lyde, who has worked to tone up his beefy 294-pound body, said he was avoiding answering his phone with so many people asking about his future in Utah. He also said he'd started thinking of himself as sticking with the Jazz.

"You got to think of yourself like that," he said. "If you don't [picture] yourself on a team, you're selling yourself short."

Harpring, meanwhile, said he would decide about playing after going through the pregame shootaround Tuesday. Harpring did not play in the preseason but has been practicing in full for the past week.

"We're going to wait til after practice and then we're going to have to talk [Tuesday]," Harpring said. "It's going to be a great day."
