Posted: 8:40 AM- FARMINGTON - Dialing a wrong number can be embarrassing enough.

But is it a criminal offense? Maybe, if you send the wrong material.

Prosecutors are considering what to do about a man who was trying to send a pornographic video to his buddies' cell phones but jumbled one of the numbers.

Instead, the video went to a woman the sender does not know. She wasn't happy and reported the case to authorities.

Davis County prosecutors are considering whether the sender can be charged with distribution of pornography, a third-degree felony. The distributing law was written long before the days of cell phone cameras and picture messaging, so prosecutors aren't sure the misguided video really qualifies.
