Posted: 4:54 PM- Utah firefighters are heading to Southern California to help battle the wind-whipped wildfires ravaging much of the area.

Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman Susan Marzec said three engines and crews from Cedar City and three to four management workers from Logan, Salt Lake City and Cedar City have been sent west.

A 20-person crew also was being assembled to send to the fires that started last weekend, she said.

Those sent to help are part of the Interagency Fire Center that draws from federal and state and local agencies.
