Posted: 9:09 PM- Ogden police are investigating the homicide of a a 22-year-old, allegedly killed by a 15-year-old boy late Friday.

Ogden police say a 15-year-old boy fatally shot a 22-year-old man during a dispute late Friday.

Jesus "Chuchi" Sanchez Aparicio, of Ogden, died at McKay Dee Hospital with gunshot wounds to the upper body, said Ogden Police Lt. Loring Draper.

The teenage suspect, whose name was not released, was booked into the Weber Valley jail on suspicion of criminal homicide.

Police responded to a report of shots being fired at a Kicks 66 convenience store at 2983 Washington Blvd. about 11:30 p.m. Friday, Draper said.

Police believe Aparicio and two others were sitting and talking inside their vehicles in the parking lot when the 15-year-old and two other people walked by.

The 15-year-old then began arguing with one of Aparicio's friends, Draper said. Aparicio and his two friends exited their vehicles, he said.

When Aparicio got out of his car with a baseball bat, police said the 15-year-old brandished a gun and fired two to four shots as Aparicio fled. The shooter then ran, but was later apprehended.

"There is still some information we are following up on," Draper said, noting that additional arrests could be made in the case.

Investigators believe the shooting may be gang-related, said Draper. But Aparicio's family denied that the married father with two sons - one nearing his second birthday and another about 2 months old - was involved in gangs, said his niece, Adriana Aparicio.

"He was just a good guy," she said when contacted at Aparicio's home Saturday afternoon. "He loved everybody and didn't have any problems with anybody. We will love him very much and will miss him forever."
