Three men who kidnapped a 28-year-old man in Ogden, shot him at least seven times and dumped his body in an industrial area early Monday were retaliating for a gang-related double homicide at a wedding party the day before, police said Tuesday.

A security guard heard the man yelling for help about 3:30 a.m. at the Ogden Industrial Complex. He was treated for gunshot wounds to the ear, upper groin, hand and other areas. Investigators interviewed him Tuesday and learned he was kidnapped on the 2800 block of Pingree Avenue by three men in a white Dodge Neon, said police Lt. Tony Fox.

The man said three men beat him up in the car, and one of the men unloaded at least 10 rounds from a handgun, hitting him at least seven times, Fox said. The gunmen then pushed him out of the car at the industrial site. The men in the car made it clear that the assault was retaliation to Sunday's shooting that left two people dead and two injured on the front lawn of a house during a post-wedding party, Fox said. Police attributed that shooting to an argument that broke out between members of rival gangs.
