Updated: 11:12 AM- Sen. Barack Obama, a Democratic presidential frontrunner, will make a campaign fund-raising stop in Park City on Aug. 5.

Mark Gilbert, who splits his time between his home in Boca Raton, Fla., and Park City and is on Obama's national financial committee, is organizing the brief visit.

Gilbert says in the five years he has owned a home in Park City, he has found a large circle of loyal Democrats. "Yet you've never seen any of the prominent Democratic candidates make campaign stops in Utah," he said. "I thought it would be great to bring the senator to Park City."

The visit will be a cash-raising affair, with no public rally or speech. Though plans are still incomplete, Gilbert says it might include a large mid-day reception for substantial donors and a more intimate private gathering for "a larger check."

"We're not placing a dollar amount on the event," Gilbert said. "The goal is to get the most people possible to meet the senator."

Obama's willingness to visit a state that is considered a Republican lock says much about the Senator's push to open American politics.

"He wants to be the president for all 50 states," Gilbert said.
