Posted: 3:02 PM- SOUTH SALT LAKE - Police on Tuesday arrested a man suspected of killing a man and wounding two women and said more arrests are likely.

Jason K. Clark, 35, was booked into the Salt Lake County jail Tuesday on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery and gun charges.

Detectives believe Clark participated in an April 29 shooting in the 100 East block of Sunset Avenue. An altercation inside a home left 50-year-old Kevin B. Kone dead and two women critically injured.

The perpetrators held the victims against their will then took items from the house, said police Capt. Tracy Tingey.

Police have not said what might have motivated the attacks and have declined to release the names of the women.

Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office stopped Clark and two others - a man and a woman - during a drug investigation on Monday. Knowing the individuals were wanted in connection with the shooting, sheriff's detectives notified South Salt Lake investigators.

After questioning the trio, Clark was arrested. The other two were released. Detectives also recovered two handguns from Clark's vehicle, police said.

Police Capt. Tracy Tingey said Clark has been cooperative and police expect more arrests in the case.

"This is in no way the end of the investigation," Tingey said. "There are other persons of interest we need to contact."

Tingey did not say how who else detectives are investigating or how many suspects were at the home.

Clark and the victims knew each other, though not well, Tingey said.
