Posted: 1:01 PM- About 100 Utah junior high students reportedly walked out of class today in protest of U.S. immigration policies.
KSL News reports that pupils three schools walked out and headed toward Pioneer Park. They were carrying Mexican and American flags.
The Granite School District says all the students are being marked absent.
"If they want the better life, a better job, the freedoms that America has to offer, the way to do that is to get an education. It's not by skipping school," Randy Ripplinger of the Granite School District told KSL.
"It does affect school because we're supposed to get an education, but we've got to do what we've got to do to stand up for us," countered student Jose Flores.
This is the second time this week students have walked out of class. On Tuesday, hundreds of students marched to the City and County Building, also in protest of immigration policies.
