Posted: 11:42 AM- PROVO - Renowned documentary filmmaker Ken Burns will speak at Brigham Young University on Tuesday.

The creator of acclaimed documentaries "The Civil War," "Baseball" and Academy Award-nominated "Brooklyn Bridge," Burns will speak on his new World War II documentary during an 11 a.m. campus forum at BYU's Marriott Center. His speech is titled "No Ordinary Lives."

Burns' "The War," a seven-part documentary about World War II, will be broadcast by PBS in September. The documentary is scheduled to air over a two-week period, beginning Sept. 16 at 8 p.m.

"More Americans get their history from Ken Burns than any other source," Historian Stephen Ambrose has said about Burns' contribution to American history, according to a BYU release.

Tuesday's forum is free to the public.
