* April 27, 1999: Quinn Martinez entered Chevy's Fresh Mex Restaurant in Sandy searching for a phone. Told there was no phone for customers, Martinez, who was high on meth, fatally shot manager Jason Rasmussen and wounded Joshua Parker. Exiting the restaurant, he shot Peter Berg twice in the back, killing him. Martinez then ran toward Debbie Briggs and shot her in the face through her closed driver's side window.

* April 15, 1999: 70-year-old Sergei Babarin, with a history of mental illness, entered the LDS Church Family History Library, killing two people and wounding four others before he was gunned down by police.

* Jan 14, 1999: De-Kieu Duy, with a history of mental illness, walked into the Triad Center and shot and killed AT&T employee Anne Sleater. She also shot Brent Whiteman twice before being apprehended.
