A Senate Education Committee today approved SB 62, legislation that would allow college students who pay tuition to receive a $300 refundable tax credit.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. Greg Bell, R-Fruit Heights, is intended to offset tuition increases at Utah institutions of higher education.
The bill moves to the entire Senate for debate.
