As more than 100 volunteers scoured central Salt Lake City for a missing 5-year-old girl, police announced a $15,000 reward for information leading to her recovery or the arrest of whoever was responsible for her disappearance.

At daybreak, volunteers gathered at the northwest corner of Liberty Park to begin combing the area for Destiny Norton, who disappeared Sunday night from her apartment complex at 721 S. 500 East.

Police and the FBI, working the case from a command post at a Mormon church across the street from the apartment complex, said anyone with information about the girl's whereabouts can call the Tips-For-Cash Hotline, 801-799-INFO (4636).

At a mid-morning press conference, police and FBI officials said they have developed no significant leads on the case.

Destiny was described as about 3 feet 6 inches tall, about 45 pounds, with short blond hair that had a green streak in it. She was last seen wearing only a black adult-size T-shirt with gray stripes.
