A Brigham City woman accused of killing her husband early Sunday after allegedly discovering him engaged in sex acts with another woman is back in jail.

Vickie Marie Ruiz, 43, was booked into jail following the shooting death but was released later that day after posting $20,000 bail.

On Monday, Ruiz was charged with first-degree felony murder in 1st District Court.

About 3:30 p.m., Ruiz was re-arrested without incident at her home in the 1000 West block of 725 South, said Brigham City police Lt. Michael Nelsen.

Ruiz was booked into jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.

A bail hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today.

Vickie Ruiz and her husband, John Matthew Ruiz, 44, hosted a party Saturday night, according to the warrant's affidavit. After the party, Vickie Ruiz found her husband and another woman having sex in a motor home parked west of their home, according to the affidavit.

Vickie Ruiz grabbed a .22-caliber handgun from her home and returned to the motor home, where she confronted the partially nude couple and shot her husband once in the chest.

She then called 911 and "indicated that that though she had shot her husband, she had not shot the other woman, though she should have done so," according to the affidavit.

Through interviews with neighbors and a search of the motor home, detectives discovered the Ruizes owned a number of guns, including a .357 revolver and an M-1 Garand rifle, according to the affidavit.

Although the detectives found a number of firearms, the revolver and rifle were not among them. Those weapons have not been recovered by police.
