The skinny » Minersville is a cyclical fishery with periods of great fishing for big trout. The reservoir has had poor water quality and has been low in recent years, but things are looking good so far this year. Rainbows stocked in 2009 are growing fast with a large number of fish in the 14-to-18-inch range found in March. There were also some fish longer than 20 inches. There is a growing number of smallmouth bass in the reservoir, and they should show up on the end of fishing lines this summer.-- Brett Prettyman
