A tractor-railer rig loaded with newsprint rolls toppled on Interstate 15 near Farr West early Thursday.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden said that the driver, 36, and a female passenger, 27, both from Olympia, Wash., were taken to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. Both were later reported to be in fair condition. Their names were not immediately released.
Roden said investigators believe the truck rolled after it overshot a curve and crashed into the freeway median.
The 2:45 a.m. accident scattered the huge paper rolls over the southbound lanes of the freeway. Clearing the wreckage and paper from the scene took nearly four hours, UHP said.
Some of the rolls remained in the median Thursday morning.
