Making his first appearance as a college quarterback, freshman Jordan Wynn fired a 22-yard touchdown pass to Jereme Brooks midway through the fourth quarter Saturday night, helping Utah rally for a 22-10 victory over Wyoming at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Wynn replaced eight-game starter Terrance Cain by coach Kyle Whittingham's decision at halftime, when Utah trailed 10-3. Wynn completed nine of 14 passes for 82 yards.

The Utes also were behind Colorado State and Air Force in the second half before coming back to win in October. The Utes (7-1, 4-0 Mountain West) drove 55 yards in six plays to take a 16-10 lead with 7:35 remaining. With good protection against a blitz, Wynn stood in the pocket and delivered a strike to Brooks in the right corner of the end zone, followed by Joe Phillips' extra point. Phillips had accounted for all of Utah's scoring with three field goals through three quarters. After the Utes' touchdown, Wyoming drove to the Utah 47. Utah cornerback R.J. Stanford intercepted a pass that went through a receiver's hands and the Utes had the ball at midfield with 5:09 remaining. Utah was forced to punt, giving Wyoming the ball at its 16-yard line with 4:11 to play.

The Cowboys could not gain a first down, turning the ball over on Derrick Shelby's fourth-down sack at the Wyoming 9. The Utes then wrapped up the victory with Eddie Wide's 5-yard touchdown run. Wynn was named Utah's No. 1 quarterback in August, although he was never officially declared the starter for the season opener against Utah State. He did not appear in the Utes' first seven games. The switch to Wynn was not Utah's only major offensive change Saturday.

Just before kickoff, Utah announced that receivers coach Aaron Roderick would call the plays, instead of offensive coordinator Dave Schramm.
