Ogden police have released the names of two officers who were arrested for driving under the influence in separate, off-duty incidents as new details about the arrests emerged.
Detective Robert Buck, 34, and Officer Jared Ingalsbe, 28, are both on administrative leave with pay, said Ogden police Lt. Scott Sangberg. In addition to a criminal investigation, the department will conduct its own internal probe.
"Other than that, we don't have anything to say," he said.
Ingalsbe was arrested June 30, after he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and hit two power poles near 1400 N. Washington Boulevard in Harrisville, according to a police report. Flying debris from the poles damaged four passing cars and a nearby house.
The crash caused a total of about $13,000 in damage to the power poles, house, phone lines and the cars.
Ingalsbe was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital with lacerations and a possible concussion after the crash. He told officers he last remembered driving southbound on Washington Boulevard. A blood test found alcohol and Zolpidem, a sleeping medication, in his system.
Buck was arrested Sunday after a Harrisville officer saw him speeding and drifting over the striped line several times near 1800 North and Highway 89, according to a police report.
When asked by an officer, he admitted "he had too many to be driving," the report states. He was later found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.122, above the
