Collin Raye and Restless Heart
Show of the week » Utah country crooner Collin Raye has a magnetic personality built for entertainment, and is noted for having a voice that can make anyone -- perhaps even pioneers -- cry: A perfect fit for a Pioneer Day country concert in Orem. Raye has recorded 15 No. 1 hits, including "In This Life," "Little Rock," "My Kind of Girl," "One Boy, One Girl," and "Not That Different," and further demonstrating his relevance, he recently struck gold with his hit "Mid-Life Chrysler." Inspired by The Eagles, the Nashville-based Restless Heart is a country quintet blending pop and country that had 15 top 10 hits, and earned the rare honor of winning the Academy of Country Music's Vocal Group of the Year. They broke up in 1994, but now all of the original members have reunited.

The American Night
This Doors tribute band, from Seattle uses sound, theatrics, myth, and the re-created parts of recordings of Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, and Robby Krieger to faithfully represent The Doors. The music is performed with original vintage instruments.

Secondhand Serenade
Secondhand Serenade sold out last year's performance at Thanksgiving Point. The band is an acoustic rock project fronted by vocalist and guitarist John Vesely. Three tracks on the upcoming album will be made available for free streaming on the band's official MySpace website on Aug. 13. Parachute is also on the bill.

Gregg Allman
The founding member of the Allman Brothers Band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. His soulful Southern-accented voice won him 70th place in Rolling Stone 's list of the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time."

LeAnn Rimes with the Utah Symphony
The 26-year-old singer-songwriter and actress will perform some of her best-known songs with the Utah Symphony underneath the stars. The Mississippi-born mezzo-soprano broke through in 1996 with her Patsy Cline tribute song "Blue," and has enjoyed continued musical success (despite some tabloid-reported heartbreak in recent months).

Blue October and Switchfoot
The Houston rock band Blue October and San Diego alt-rockers Switchfoot are touring together. The name of Blue October was inspired by the lead singer's brief stint in a hospital; the band's fifth studio album was released in March. Switchfoot is known for its 2003 songs "Meant to Live" and "Dare You to Move." Longwave is also on the bill.

This Christian rock tour features Kutless, Disciple, Stellar Kart, Esterlyn, Chasen and Scoob Serious. Kutless takes its name from Romans 6:23, which says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Because of this, the band has said that because Jesus took "our cuts for us," the band is "Kutless."

Punk Invasion Tour
Fear, Agent Orange, DI and Total Chaos are on the bill. Frontman Lee Ving has been Fear's only constant member through years of differing line-ups which once had Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers as bassist. Agent Orange, also from southern California, was one of the bands that first blended punk with surf rock.

Greg Laswell
The 35-year-old California singer-songwriter attended Point Loma Nazarene University near San Diego. In 2008, Laswell joined the European leg of the Hotel Cafe Tour, and several of his songs have been featured in the television shows "Grey's Anatomy," "True Blood," "90210," and "Dollhouse." Laswell's single "Off I Go" was written specifically for the season 5 finale of "Grey's Anatomy."

This Sub Pop folk band is named after the grass of the same name. "Tight Knit" is the fourth full-length album from San Francisco band leader Andy Cabic, who plays most of the instruments himself on the recordings. Charlie Parr is also on the bill.

Clint Black
The country singer, who recently appeared on Donald Trump's "The Celebrity Apprentice," has returned to performing after finishing near the top on the reality series. He has charted more than 30 singles on the U.S. Billboard country chart since his first album was released in 1989.
