A 47-year-old South Ogden woman died Sunday when she lost control of her car while trying to make a turn, struck a sign and flipped the car.

The crash that killed Sheila M. Dominguez occurred about midnight when she was driving her Mitsubishi Eclipse too fast on Wall Avenue near 40th Street and missed her turn, South Ogden police Officer Marci Edwards said.

Dominguez ran off the road at 3990 South and Riverdale Road, struck a sign and wires from a utility pole, and flipped the car onto its roof. She was not wearing her seat belt and was partially ejected, Edwards said.

A passenger in the car, who was wearing his seat belt, suffered minor injuries.
