A man and woman were arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing gasoline from a Beaver service station and leading police on a chase south on Interstate 15 that ended 28 miles later in Iron County. Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Ryan Bauer said the unidentified man and woman in the truck surrendered peacefully after a spike strip laid across the freeway lanes blew out a tire. Bauer said the chase reached speeds of 90 mph.

The Iron County Sheriff's Office and UHP troopers took part in the chase that started at 4:45 p.m.

Bauer said the Dodge pickup, with an Arizona license plate, may be stolen. The two suspects were taken back to Beaver where they were booked into jail.
