The Toyota Scion owned by well-known Utah cyclist David Zabriskie was recovered Tuesday night by a police gang unit staking out the home of a fugitive.

The car was found near 3500 South and 400 West, said Salt Lake City police spokeswoman Robin Snyder. A 30-year-old man was seen leaving a nearby home and entering the car several times before he was arrested, Snyder said. He was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle.

Zabriskie's Salt Lake City home was burglarized earlier this month. Two vehicles, electronics, Olympic memorabilia and 12 bikes were taken. The stolen goods were valued at $158,000, not including the 2008 Subaru Outback and the Scion. Thieves also took seven statues of Marvel comics characters.

Snyder said none of the other stolen items were found Tuesday night at the home where the car was located.

The president of the company where Zabriskie bought the statues announced a $10,000 reward leading to any information about the thefts.
