Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, reportedly is going back to work, this time at Utah high-tech start-up Fusion-io.

Wozniak, who has been serving as an adviser to Fusion-io, will join the 3-year-old Salt Lake City company as chief scientist, according to The New York Times .

"I have a pretty quiet life, and I like to watch technology evolve," Wozniak told the Times . "In this case, I like the people and the product, and said I would like some greater involvement."

Wozniak shut down his Wheels of Zeus start-up in 2006.

Fusion-io takes high-speed flash memory chips and packs them together to create large data-storage devices with quick access. The company says the devices allow a huge gain in storage capacity, while consuming much less power at one-tenth the cost of traditional storage networks.
