Gov. Jon Huntsman took a moment during his second inauguration to declare Monday as "Utah Utes Day."

Huntsman declared the unbeaten Utes "America's new No. 1" at the end of a brief ceremony on the steps of the Capitol.

Utah is the only team in major college football to go unbeaten this season. The seventh-ranked Utes upset No. 4 Alabama 31-17 in the Sugar Bowl last week and are waiting to see where they finish in the final polls.

Huntsman took the oath of office Monday during a brief outdoor ceremony at the Capitol. The Republican won re-election with a record 77 percent of the vote in November and is one of the nation's most popular governors.

While state law doesn't mandate term limits, Huntsman says he won't seek a third term.

He says he will use his final four years in office to try to increase teacher pay, make health care more attainable and lure more businesses to the state.

While Huntsman's first term was marked by record economic expansion, his second term already is different. The state is rapidly shedding jobs and next year's budget is expected to shrink by $1 billion.
