Posted: 3:43 PM- The process to replace Brent Guy as Utah State's football coach appears to be nearing a conclusion.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Gary Andersen, the Utah defensive coordinator, is interviewing for a second time in Logan today.

Those same sources also confirm that Michael "Chico" Canales, interviewed for a second time on Saturday, not for a first, which was what was originally believed.

Andersen wasn't at Utah's practice today. Ute coach Kyle Whittingham, himself the coaching object of Washington's eye, said that Andersen missed practice for "personal reasons."

"Gary has been a great assistant coach here," Whittingham went on to say. "We knew there would be opportunities out there for him."

Andersen and Canales are the two candidates that appear to be the frontrunners. While no formal offer has been made to Andersen yet, one may be forthcoming soon, sources say.
